Say Wen

Privacy

Say Wen is free, with no catch. Here’s the whole deal.

The promise

  • Free. No ads, nothing to upgrade to. No caps on how many events you make or how many people join. We only slow down bursts that look like spam.
  • No accounts. Nobody signs up or logs in.
  • We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
  • No tracking pixels and no ad trackers, here or in our emails.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Your event (details, names, free times, places, votes): deleted 90 days after its last date, with everything attached. Days-of-the-week events: 90 days after the last activity.
  • Deleted events wait in the trash for 7 days so the organizer can undo it, then they’re gone for good.
  • Email addresses for event updates go when the event goes.
  • News sign-ups you never confirm are deleted after 30 days.
  • PINs are stored scrambled, so nobody can read them.
  • To stop spam, we briefly count how often the same connection does things like create events, save answers or send emails. These counts are scrambled, can’t identify you, and are erased within two days.
  • Cookies only remember, on your own device, which event you organize and which answer is yours. They don’t track you.

A cleanup runs every night, so these times are kept.

Counting visits

We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and can’t follow you from site to site. Event links are hidden from it: it only sees “an event page”, never which one.

We also keep plain daily totals, like “12 events created today”. They don’t include names, addresses or event links, and they aren’t deleted because they’re about no one.

Email

Optional, and nothing is sent until you tap the link in a confirmation email. Organizers who add an email get a daily summary on days when people add their times, one email when the time is locked in, and links to reset a PIN or restore a deleted event if they ask. Participants who tap “Email me the final time” get one email when it’s locked in, plus an update if it changes. No more than 5 per address per event.

“Tell me about new free tools from Say Wen” is a separate list, only if you tick that box (it’s never ticked for you) and confirm by email. We keep your address, the exact wording you agreed to, and when, until you unsubscribe. Event emails never contain promotions.

Unsubscribe or delete

  • Every email has an unsubscribe link. One tap, and it works right away. Unsubscribing from the news list deletes your address from it entirely.
  • Organizers can delete an event any time from its page.
  • Want something removed sooner, or have a question? Email hello@saywen.app with the event link or your address and we’ll delete it.
